Grant Opportunities

The WCCI would not be so successful without the generosity of grants. We are happy to share grant resources with the wider community.

Kate Bradley, the community grants writer, visits the Wandoan Surf Club throughout the year to provide support to organisations looking to apply for grants.

Contact Kate mccmgrants@bigpond.com or the Wandoan Surf Club to learn when she is next in Wandoan.

School to Work Transitions (S2WT) program

The School to Work Transitions (S2WT) program is designed to support school students who are at risk of not transitioning successfully from school to further education, training or employment, by providing tailored solutions to improve post-school outcomes.

Funded organisations support priority school student groups through:

  • creating strong and effective school-industry partnerships across Queensland
  • connecting schools, students and employers to maximise local employment opportunities and create youth-friendly workplaces
  • enabling tailored assistance and support approaches to be provided to under-represented student groups.

The priority school student groups are:

  • school-based apprentices and trainees
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
  • students from schools with an Index of Community Socio-educational Advantage (ICSEA) below 900
  • rural and remote students
  • under-represented groups in the workforce
  • place-based strategies in areas with high youth unemployment and/or significant workforce strategies that could be filled by school leavers.

Local schools and local employers will need to provide letters of support for your project.

If you would like to discuss how you might be able to create a program in your local area but not sure where to turn, please feel free to reach out to me on the number below. Applications close 1st March 2024 so if you want to hold off until school recommences there will still be time!
